I was watching the Arizona vs UConn game - not that I really care about basketball or March Madness - but that is what I was doing when I received a phone call. Not from the hospice nurse whom I thought would call, but from the home health care provider.

It all seems so very surreal right now and yet....I am so thankful that I know she is finally at peace - rejoicing with the angels and being reunited with my dad - something that she has envisioned for over 5 and half years now.
Mom - you will be missed but I take comfort in knowing that I will see you again. Save me a mansion next to yours, ok?
What a beautiful mom! Thank you for sharing a moment of your journey. Sending you prayers of peace and comfort, strength, and clear vision to know how to handle the days ahead. May you feel guided.
ReplyDeleteFondly...
How wonderful to know that she is at peace and reunited with her love. She looks like such a lovely woman. You have been walking a journey that we all will be called to with our own parents someday and I pray God gives you the peace and strength you now need for the upcoming days.
ReplyDeleteMy sincerest sympathy and love to you....
Oh, my condolences...but I know what that journey is like, too; when my mom passed three years ago, it was a quiet moment as well.
ReplyDeleteIt didn't feel real until later.
She was also receiving hospice care.
I hope that you are filled with many wonderful memories to sustain you.
Molly, sorry for your loss, and I know she will be missed, but hopefully, she is in a much better place. Lovely photo.
ReplyDeleteMolly, I'm happy for your mother and for you that the ordeal has ended. She's where she wants to be, and you can begin to move on. Life will certainly be different, but you will grow into and cherish your new role. Your mother looks like she was a wonderful woman. Take care.
ReplyDeleteMolly, my thoughts and prayers are with you...mothers are special and we don't want them to hurt or suffer in any way...but we don't ever want to lose them either.
