My teaser is from Still Alice by Lisa Genova
And I have no control over which yesterdays I keep and which ones get deleted. This disease will not be bargained with. I can't offer it the names of the United States presidents in exchange for the names of my children. I can't give it the names of the state capitals and keep the memories of my husband. --- page 251
This teaser made me tear up a bit!
ReplyDeleteMy teaser is up at Find the Time to Read
This is a book I'd like read. Nice tease. Here's my teaser.
ReplyDeleteI've been seeing a lot of reviews of this one lately. Sounds interesting, but sad. Nice teaser, though!
ReplyDeleteHere's mine.
My grandmother died ultimately of complications from Alzheimers. What an awful disease. I haven't decided whether I can handle this book but it has gotten really great reviews.
ReplyDeletePerfect teaser, considering the sad story; thanks Molly

This book has been making its way around the book blogging world for quite a bit. I picked up a copy during the winter holidays and it's waiting for its moment. :)
ReplyDeleteoh sad, sounds like a thought provoking book. Kaye—the road goes ever ever on
ReplyDeleteSounds like an emotional read.
ReplyDeleteWatching my sister in law go through this is just heart rending. I'm not sure I could get through the book.
ReplyDeleteJust picked this up from the library and will present it to my book club as a possible selection on Thursday.
ReplyDeleteI'm not familiar with the book so your teaser was puzzling to me. From the other comments, I gather this subject of the book is Alzheimers. I'm visiting my mom right now and she has vascular dementia. It's not the same as Alzheimers but still very sad, frustrating and occasionally humorous. We're trying to figure out what the best course of action for her is going forward. Hope the book is not too much of a downer.
ReplyDeleteTHis is one I keep meaning to add to my wishlist and keep forgetting (I just realized the irony of saying that....)
ReplyDeleteThis is a perfect teaser from this book. I remember that line and it stayed with me.
