About Me

I began My Cozy Book Nook in late 2008. At that time I was teaching several English classes at a small private school, and writing book reviews seemed a logical foray into the blogging world.

I am now retired and have the opportunity to reconnect with other interests that lay dormant all these years. I still love to read, of course, but now I also pursue travel, photography, and writing.

I consider all these passions intimately connected. I cannot travel without a camera or notebook. Reading enhances my writing. The camera helps me slow down and observe the world around me. And I feel compelled to tell the story behind the photo.

These are my heart's desires. And My Cozy Book Nook is where I give them voice.

I aspire to become a children's author and am currently working on a  Middle Grade series: Escaping through the Arts. It is my fervent desire to introduce young students to the fine arts (literature, music, and visual art) in a fun, engaging way. This first book, Ellie's Paris Adventure, takes place in Paris, 1880, at the time of the French Impressionists.

My dream is to spend extensive time in England, France, and Italy - to experience life as a native. I hope to make numerous trips to these areas of the world, conduct a bit of research for the novel series, and share these adventures with you.

My vision is to marry one photo (worth 1,000 words) with one essay to create a meaningful narrative for future generations. Special celebrations, travel memories, or photos of nature can all be part of a  memoir that documents our faith, values, and history.

I look forward to sharing these passions with you and encourage you to pursue your own. All it takes is a desire of the heart - and a willingness to step out in faith.

Welcome to My Cozy Book Nook ... please find a comfortable spot and stay awhile.
