I am failing miserably. I had a feeling I would. Once I stopped the momentum and came home with a full belly, I knew it would be more difficult to focus and stay awake. Also consider the fact that my book nook is about 80 degrees (no joke!) -- I simply cannot stay awake any longer.
I am going to wash my face and perhaps try to read a bit in bed, but the eyelids are quite heavy. I will try to set the alarm in order to get in a bit more reading in final minutes of the contest, but sometimes the mattress rules.
So, the truth of the matter is --- I am not sure I read any more today than I would on a "typical" Saturday:
books completed: 1
book currently reading: Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier
current progress: page 120 out of 410
total number pages read: 440
total number of hours read: 7.5
Rebecca is one of my favorite books. Well, hope you can stay up a bit longer but if not, then sweet dreams to you. You did great!
ReplyDeletePlease don't use the word failure. You did great. And, it was fun to join together with others to do something you love - read. A half read-a-thon was your original plan anyway. You succeeded. Good for you.
ReplyDeleteGood job for what you did do, it sounds awesome! Sleep is good :) My apartment got super warm today too, that makes it really hard to stay awake. I hope you had fun with the Read-a-Thon!
ReplyDeleteYou are not a failure! I can't imagine reading 7.5 hours on a typical Saturday. I think that is amazing.
ReplyDeleteSleep tight!
